MAN CHARGED OVER THE DISCOVERY OF EXPLOSIVE DEVICE IN CESSNOCK

A man has been charged over the discovery two explosive devices in the back shed of a Cessnock property on Monday.

Police allege they were at the Carroll Avenue home searching for firearms, when they came across the devices.

The 35-year-old is facing close to 20 charges, including manufacturing and possessing an explosive with intent to injure.

He’s due to face Newcastle Local Court on Friday.
