TAMWORTH COUNCIL OFFICIALLY TAKES ON OWNERSHIP OF GOLDEN GUITAR

Tamworth’s Golden Guitar now sits in the hands of the city’s council.

The New England Highway landmark was donated to council through the cultural gift program.

Councillors voted unanimously to accept the donation, taking on official ownership of the attention-grabbing structure.

It’s understood the Council paid an undisclosed sum to have external valuations conducted on the site.

The 31-year-old monument continues to attract more than 110,000 visitors annually.
