CENTRAL COAST MAN ACCUSED OF 50 SEXUAL AND INDECENT ASSAULT OFFENCES

A 68-year-old man will appear in court today charged with 50 sexual and indecent assault offences which allegedly spanned over four decades.

In May this year, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a young girl was sexually assaulted by a man known to her.

During their investigation, officers discovered a further two girls and a boy had been sexually assaulted by the man, who was also known to them.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested the man at a home on the state’s Central Coast just before 9:30am yesterday (Monday 23 December 2019).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with a plethora of charges including sexual intercourse without consent (DV), aggravated sex assault-victim under the age of 16 years, sexual intercourse with person under 10-under authority and sexual intercourse with person under the age of 10 years.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually assaulted three girls -aged between seven and 15 – and a boy – aged between 10 and 23 – between 1981 and 2019 across NSW.

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court today (Tuesday 24 December 2019).
