24-YEAR-OLD KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS FOLLOWING BALLINA BRAWL

A 24-year-old man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a brawl in northern NSW last night.

Just before 8pm (Sunday 22 December 2019), police and emergency services were called to reports of a brawl near Hill and Park Streets, East Ballina.

NSW Ambulance paramedics found the man suffering serious head injuries.

He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The man had been at a local pub with friends, and was knocked unconscious during a fight when he left a pub.

A19-year-old was arrested and taken to Ballina Police Station.

Police have established a Strike Force to investigate the incident.
