Inverell residents are on edge this evening as the Staggs Lane fire caused trouble for emergency services today.
It was upgraded to Watch and Act after the blaze jumped containment lines.
Huge plumes of smoke could be seen from the town’s Main Street, as police rushed to close a number of local roads.
