A 25 year old man will face court today over a police pursuit near Maitland at the weekend.
Officers tried to stop an alleged stolen Toyota Prado 4WD on Belmore Road in Lorn just before 11 o’clock on Saturday night.
Police say the driver tried to reverse into their vehicle, and drove off sparking a high speed pursuit.
It came to an end a short time later when police found the Toyota parked on Skilton Avenue in East Maitland.
Officers spotted the man allegedly hiding in the grass, and ran from police, but was caught and arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, police found several allegedly stolen items from an earlier aggravated break and enter at a business in Maitland.
He was taken to Maitland Police Station, charged with 12 offences, and is due to face Maitland Local Court today.
