NEW BORE OPENED AT ARMIDALE AIRPORT TO ASSIST FIRIES

A new bore has been tapped

at the Armidale Regional Airport, to assist fire crews in their aerial activities.

The bore will provide a secure water supply for aircraft battling bushfires across the region.

The Rural Fire Service was previously relying on the airport dam, but it’s drying up.

This new bore will mean it doesn’t have to use Armidale’s town water.

Council’s still looking for additional bore sites.
