Widespread 1 to 10mm fell across the region, but the Northern Rivers again missed out, allowing most fires to keep burning.

It’s great to finally see some cloud lingering over the northern tropics to the north-west of WA.

Eastern Australia is clear of cloud once again as smoke lingers over the Northern Rivers and southeast QLD.

Another front will approach the southeast.

Locally we’ll have another, calm, mostly sunny day with light to moderate variable winds switching back to the north-west / north-east for most.

That’s coming straight in from the east for Byron to the Gold Coast.

Showers and storms returning to north-east New South Wales over the weekend.
