The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning
for heavy rainfall in parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter, North West Slopes and Plains and Northern Tablelands.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding in these areas over the next few hours – particularly for those near Bendemeer just north of Tamworth.
Swan Vale just west of Glen Innes, has already recorded more than 45mm of rain in just one hour.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should stay away from creeks and storm drains and contact emergency services if you are in immediate trouble.
