The 2019 Drivers Championship may have already been decided, but there’s still plenty to race for in this weekend’s Newcastle 500.

Scott McLaughlin steered his Ford Mustang GT to ninth place in the last round at Sandown, to wrap up his second Supercars crown on the trot.

McLaughlin’s team, DJR Penske, will be looking for more silverware at the weekend though, with the teams’ championship to be settled on the streets of the East End for the second time in three visits.

DJR Team Penske, which won the title in 2017, leads Triple Eight Race Engineering by 116 points with a total of 576 on the line.

The Triple Eight garage has history on its side though, having won eight of the last nine team’s championships.

The ECB Utes will be first on track from 9.30 while the Supercars Practice Session 1 starts at 11.30.
