LAKE MACQUARIE PURSUIT LEADS POLICE TO A HOST OF ILLEGAL AND STOLEN ITEMS

A man has been charged after a police pursuit around Lake Macquarie involving an allegedly stolen car.

A vehicle with two different registration plates caught police’s attention at Morisset on Thursday morning.

Police pulled the car over, but it took off again and a pursuit began.

The car was last spotted heading down a fire trail between Nords Wharf and Gwandalan.

Police later found the alleged driver at a home in Narara, and arrested the 34-year-old.

During a search of the man’s bag, police allegedly located methamphetamine, a knife, a key to the allegedly stolen vehicle, and a Range Rover key.

It is also alleged other stolen items were also found in the home.

The man has been charged with string of offences, including aggravated break and enter, dangerous driving, and possessing a prohibited weapon.
