MAN CHARGED OVER FATAL TAMWORTH HOUSE FIRE

A 60-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder following a fatal house fire at Tamworth on Thursday.

Two people, believed to be an adult and child were killed in the fire, which took hold at a home on Bylong Road at around 5:30 in the morning.

Following inquiries, detectives from Strike Force Glendare arrested a 60-year-old man.

Two others were hospitalised as a result of the blaze, including a woman who was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in a critical condition.

A young boy was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
