PORT MACQUARIE DRUNK DRIVER CHARGED WITH SPATE OF OFFENCES
A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a pursuit with police at Port Macquarie yesterday.
At one point the driver of a Mitsubishi Triton crashed into a sedan, then drove on mounting a curb, hitting a bus stop and a power pole.
The man failed a roadside breath test and was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
He was charged with a raft of offenses including police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, not give particulars to other driver, drive with middle range PCA, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 6 November 2019.
His licence was also suspended.
The power to Clifton Drive and surrounding areas will be affected for some hours as a result of the incident.
