RESPECTED GOMEROI ELDER “AUNTY PEARL” TRINDALL FAREWELLED IN TAMWORTH

A highly respected member of Tamworth’s Gomeroi community was farewelled today, in an intimate memorial service.

“Aunty Pearl” Trindall played an instrumental role in the establishment of the city’s Birrilee Preschool.

She was also a key player in the development of the Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service.

The 92-year-old passed away peacefully last week.

Her life was celebrated with a traditional smoking ritual and musical dedications from family and friends.
