An emergency warning has been issued for a bushfire burning in remote bushland near Busbys Flat, south west of Casino.
Strong westerly winds are fanning flames towards Old Tenterfield Road, with residents at Wyan and Wineshanty advised it is now too late to leave.
Coupled with warm windows, the conditions are conducive to spot fires forming well ahead of the main fire front.
According to the RFS, the blaze has already scorched around 600 hectares.
