It’s been a picture perfect day along much of the state’s coastline, with a small swell and offshore winds proving a playground for those out enjoying the school holidays.
That’s come to a gusty close though, with a southerly currently making its way up the coast.
Expect the winds to turn onshore for the Mid North Coast overnight, before reaching the Gold Coast at around lunchtime.
Offshore winds and hot weather will return for the second half of the long weekend.
