Police are urging parents to stay on top of fire safety with their kids after three children lit a grass fire near Tenterfield on Sunday, while playing with matches.
The flames burnt through almost 300 hectares of land – threatening homes and killing a number of cattle.
Officers in the New England say it’s a timely reminder to discuss fire safety with children.
