PORT MACQUARIE NEAR LEVEL 2 WATER RESTRICTIONS

Port Macquarie Council says residents could be just weeks away from level two water restrictions, if the area doesn’t receive any rain.

Water reserves are just above 60 percent, but back up reserves continue to dry out.

Meanwhile, Council is looking to increase the number of alternative water sources in a new capital works program.

“The biggest infrastructure project we’ve got on the books in the near future is a new water treatment plant, so we’re in the process of doing a feasibility study, looking at site selection at this point in time.” – Terry Randall, Port Macquarie Council Water Manager.
