SAMUREZ CREEK BRIDGE OFFICIALLY REOPENED AFTER UPGRADES

The commute between Armidale and Uralla is now much safer, with upgrades to Samurez Bridge essentially complete.

Adam Marshall joined construction site workers and Armidale Mayor Simon Murray for the bridge’s official reopening today.

“This bridge has been widened as part of a 10 million dollar road safety upgrade between Armidale and Uralla. The 22 kilometre stretch of the New England Highway has been widened along its whole distance. There’s been extra passing lanes built into the highway.”

The final seal on the road will be completed in October.
