RAPPVILLE BUSHFIRE ‘BEING CONTROLLED’

Some good news from the fire ground at Rappville, south of Casino this evening, with the blaze downgraded to an Advice level warning.

RFS says the fire, which has already burnt through more than 1800 hectares, is ‘being controlled’.

Far north coast residents are being urged to stay vigilant, after earlier on Sunday a Watch and Act level warning was issued.

The blaze started late last night along Clearfield Road, shutting down the rail line between Sydney and Brisbane, and at one stage, threatening homes.
