ELDERLY MAN KILLED USING PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IN ARMIDALE

An elderly man has died after he was struck by a car while crossing a road in Armidale.

The 76-year-old was using a pedestrian crossing on Markham Street at around midday when he was struck.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition suffering serious head injuries, however later died.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
