GAV’S WEATHER | WINTER IS READY TO RETURN

It’s been another warm and mostly sunny day, that feels more like spring than winter, with strong north-westerly winds developing.

The southern half of the country is cloudy, as a succession of strong fronts begin to move in, while the rest of Australia remains sunny and dry.

Large highs sit over the Indian Ocean, but there is still no rain expected locally.

The dry run of mild winter days will continue, before the chills of August finally arrive.

The Hunter will see temperatures drop over the weekend, as the strongest cold front of the year generates rain and snow for the south-east.
