Merewether’s Morgan Cibilic has risen an incredible 57 places on the World Qualifying Series rankings, following his fourth round appearance at the US Open of Surfing in California.
The 19-year-old claimed several big scalps along the way, including former championship tour competitor Matt Wilkinson.
Cibilic’s ranking of 73rd should see him gain entry to all of the highest profile events on the QS for the rest of 2019.
