The bush fire danger period is starting early on the Mid North Coast this year due to extremely dry conditions and a lack of rainfall during winter.
From August 1, a fire permit is required before lighting any fires, including hazard reduction burns.
Rural Fire Service encourage the community to start preparing for the threat of bush fires and update their survival plan.
