Charities, unions and the arts have been given a seat at the table, on an expanded Committee for the Hunter.
Newcastle Airport and the university have also been added as patrons for the organisation, which lobbies for the region’s future.
“The diversification of the economy, getting the narrative right – a collective narrative – right about the investment, and employment, job growth opportunities across the whole region,” said committee chair, Richard Anicich.
The new-look committee will be launched at the uni’s CBD campus Tuesday night.
