WALLAROOS TOO GOOD FOR JAPAN IN NEWCASTLE TEST
Playing their first standalone test on home soil in over 10 years, the Australian women’s rugby team has scored a comfortable win over Japan in Newcastle.
The Wallaroos scored their first try inside 10 minutes and the home side had a second shortly before the break.
The Wallaroos added to their tally shortly after the restart with a try to Trilleen Pomare.
When Eva Karpani crashed over the Australians led 29-nil.
The home side suffered a setback when Liz Patu was sent to the bin.
Japan took advantage, scoring its only try.
Just for good measure, Samantha Treherne scored again for the Wallaroos as they ran out winners, 34 points to five.
