A major police operation is underway after two people were found dead at Stockton.
Emergency services were called to a Newcastle Street home at around 5.30am where they found the body of a woman aged in her 70s.
Two bodies have been found at Stockton. A 75yo woman was found dead in her home on Newcastle Street around 6am, and a man in his 70s was retrieved shortly after from the surf at Stockton Beach. Police were alerted to a concern for welfare at Stockton Beach a short time after, and on arrival, found the body of a man, also in his 70s.
Parts of Newcastle Street and the beach have been cordoned off, as forensic teams investigate.
