LAURIETON BUSINESS VICTIM OF EARLY MORNING ROBBERY

Three men remain on the run after an early morning robbery at Laurieton, south of Port Macquarie.

Police have been told a 55-year-old man was at a business on Bold Street at around 5 o’clock on Tuesday morning, when he was followed inside the shop by three men.

It’s alleged he was assaulted by the group, who made off with a sum of cash.

Police say the men, who were last seen heading north along Bold Street in a Mitsubishi Magna, are described as having dark hair and dark bushy eyebrows.

At the time of the incident, they were wearing black clothing and had their faces covered.

The employee suffered a blow to his head and back, however didn’t require medical treatment.

Anyone with information is asked to contact local police.
