INQUEST INTO FESTIVAL DEATHS GETS UNDERWAY
Central Coast teenager Alex Ross-King was just 19-years-old when she died of a drug overdose, after taking three pills in quick succession outside a music festival in Sydney’s West.
Her death, now one of six being examined as part of an inquiry into deaths at music festivals in New South Wales between 2017 and 2019.
Counsel Assisting Peggy Dwyer said, she had told friends, “she took the drugs once, like that, apparently to avoid the risk of being caught.”
Like many of the other victims, she was not a regular drug user.
The inquest will also examine the deaths of five others, including Josh Tam, who died at a music festival on the Central Coast.
A Coroner telling the court room, which included the families of the victims, “we owe them a proper investigation.”
