WORLD’S LARGEST KNOT BOARD ON EXHIBIT
The International Guild of Knot Tiers gathered in Tamworth this weekend for its first Australian meeting.
Steel cable business Andromeda Industries hosted the event, displaying more than 1,000 types of knots.
The largest knot board in the world was also there, made Victorian Barry Smith.
“He spent a whole year doing one knot per day, developing a knot board so there’s 365 knots on that board.”
Experts plaited for the audience, including the complicated star knot that takes a minimum of eight hours to make.
The event was also a chance for novices to brush up on their skills.
