MAN WANTED BY POLICE AFTER RAMMING THEIR VEHICLE IN COFFS HARBOUR

A police officer has suffered minor injuries after his vehicle was rammed by a stolen car in Nambucca Heads overnight.

The incident unfolded after police spotted a suspected stolen Subaru WRX enter the Nambucca Railway Station on Tuesday night.

The vehicle was followed for a short distance and when the Subaru stopped, the officer approached before the driver reversed, forcing police to take evasive action.

The officer, attached to the dog unit, returned to his station wagon before the driver then accelerated again, this time ramming the driver’s side door.

The Subaru then sped off with the police losing sight of the vehicle.

Police are now hunting the male driver who is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180 centimetres tall, with a thin build.

The suspected stolen car he was driving has the New South Wales registration DCZ 14M.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers.
