NEW PET SALE LAWS TO IMPROVE ANIMAL WELFARE

Advertisements selling cats and pooches are now required to include an animal identification number under new legislation.

The law comes that effect tomorrow aims to improve animal welfare.

People looking to buy pets have a chance to research the animal’s breed and health history.

The changes are in response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Companion Animal Breeding Practices.
