HUMAN BONES FOUND AT PORT MACQUARIE BEACHES

Police are carrying out DNA tests on a several human bones that have been found at Port Macquarie beaches this week.

Spear fishermen stumbled upon one of the bones at Flynn’s Beach on Saturday, and handed it in to the police station.

Police divers were deployed the next day to search for further bones, but nothing was found.

Then, on Monday, a spear fisherman found two more bones about a kilometre away at Flat Rock, east of Nobby Head.

Another police search is underway today, with the human bones currently undergoing forensic testing.

The DNA results will be compared with missing person records.
