STATE BUDGET | FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR KEY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

Meanwhile Lismore MP Janelle Saffin has questioned the money allocated for the Northern Rivers.

Included in today’s budget is $53-million for stage 3 of the Lismore Base Hospital and a further $790-million for the Pacific Highway upgrade between Woolgoolga and Ballina.

“It’s light on detail in terms of the commitments to the Lismore electorate. I’ve looked long and hard for the election commitments and I can’t see them there.”

The Treasurer also confirmed an extra $97-million for the new Tweed Hospital.

Schools in the Tweed Valley, Byron and Ballina Shires will also receive $6.7-billion for upgraded infrastructure.

While, Marine Rescue Tweed Heads and Ballina were also big winners.
