TRAINING DAY FOR CESSNOCK CLIFF RESCUE CREW

There was no rest today for… Cessnock’s Volunteer Rescue Association, with crews taking part in a training exercise.

The four person crew gave up several hours to practice their vertical retrievals… ahead of their latest round of safety accreditation.

“You don’t want to be hanging over a 100, 200 metre cliff if you’re, if you’re not sure what you’re doing, so these guys really train hard and, and get their assessments right.”

The highly specialised volunteers are responsible for most mountain rescues, within the Barringtons and Watagans.
