CENTRAL COAST MEN CAUGHT WITH ALMOST 20KG OF CANNABIS

Two Central Coast men have been arrested after almost 20 kilograms of cannabis was found in the back of their ute near Wagga Wagga.

Officers stopped an SS Commodore on the Sturt Highway at Borambola on Friday afternoon, with a search of the vehicle locating 34 packages containing the illicit drug.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, was charged with a number of offences including supplying a prohibited drug, while his 45-year-old passenger was charged with two drug related offences.

Both are set to face Wagga Wagga Local Court later this month, having been granted conditional bail.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man has been charged with high range drink driving after he returned a breath test result of 0.188 on the Central Coast.

Police were called to Chain Valley Bay Road late on Friday evening, after a Holden Commodore was spotted in a ditch.

It’s reported the man had stopped in a parking bay to use a dating app when he took his foot off the brake.

The driver was taken to Toukley Police Station where he was charged.

He’s due back in court next month.

Double demerits remain in place until midnight on Monday.
