PRISONER ON THE RUN AFTER ESCAPING FROM A GLEN INNES CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

A man has escaped a correctional facility on the Gwydir Highway, near Glen Innes.

27-year-old inmate Ben Michie was reported missing just before 9am on Wednesday.

Michie is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175 centimetres tall, of medium build, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He’s known to frequent the Hunter Valley, Mid North Coast and western Sydney areas.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Michie’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Officers have warned people not to approach him, but call Tripple Zero (000) immediately if sighted.
