GAV’S WEATHER: WINTER MOVING IN

The first of a succession of vigorous fronts is sweeping across the region tonight.

There is a small rain associated associated with it pushing across New South Wales.

Showers and snow have begun fall on the Alpine districts.

The chills of winter are moving tonight in after the final warm weekend of May.

Tomorrow the second of the fronts will sweep in across the southeast.

Victoria and Tasmania will be hammered by strong winds and icy temperatures as the strongest southern storms of the season begin to affect southeast Australia.

The local region will remain dry, mostly sunny but much cooler and quite windy especially to the south across the Greater Hunter.

Dust will also accompany the change.
