JOHNSTON AND ODAMS CLAIM SECOND STAGE AT PORT TO PORT

Defending champion Brendan Johnston and teammate Jon Odams have recovered from a rough start, to claim the second stage of the Port to Port Mountain Bike Race.

The pair owned the trails through Lake Macquarie today, and will now prepare for a gruelling stage three, that includes a big climb in the Watagans.

Stage one winners Ben Bradley and Alex Lack remain in the yellow jerseys heading into the third day.

The Kiwi duo of Kate McIlroy and Samara Sheppard still lead the women’s category.
