It was a good day for the two Central Coast surfers.
Avoca’s Carmichael posted a heat winning total of 15.50 with his first two rides.
“Those fins are popping out the borrow and then look at the body here, he just keeps it nice and smooth nice and clean and then drives off those fins.”
While things were much closer for Ace Buchan – he scraped through by point-four-three.
“A nasty knee injury at the start of the season, but just relying on strapping now.”
The quarter finals are expected to take place tomorrow.
