Australia’s Jason Doyle has defied medical advice to line up at round one of the Speedway GP series in Poland, less than a fortnight after suffering a punctured lung and broken rib in a Polish club race.
The 2017 world champion made a modest start to his campaign, leading his opening heat until the final turn.
Unfortunately second was as good as it got on the night, leaving Doyle in 13th after round one.
