TWO CHARGED OVER CENTRAL COAST PURSUIT

A man has been charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit on the Central Coast.

Officers arrested the 30-year-old and a female passenger on Wharf Street at East Gosford on Thursday night after the Holden HSV they were travelling in crashed down an embankment on Caroline Street.

It’s alleged the driver had earlier failed to stop for police on the Central Coast Highway at Erina.

PolAir tracked the vehicle to the eventual crash site, and further inquiries revealed it had been stolen from Tuggerah earlier this month.

The 30-year-old man has been charged with a string of offences including driving while disqualified.

A 19-year-old woman was also charged.
