WOMAN CHARGED OVER COALFIELDS STABBING

A 33-year-old woman has been charged over the stabbing of a woman outside a Hunter Valley hotel.

Police will allege the woman had been kicked out of a licensed premises on Vincent Street at Cessnock in the early hours of May 5, when she assaulted a 25-year-old.

The injured woman was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital, having been stabbed multiple times in the back and face.

Following inquiries, a 33-year-old was arrested on Thursday.

She was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
