WPL | NEW LAMBTON SCORES WIN OVER MEREWETHER
In Round 8 of the Women’s Premier League, Wallsend beat Thornton, while South Wallsend outclassed Mid North Coast, and New Lambton beat Merewether.
At Adamstown Oval, Warners Bay started well against the home side, Tara Pender forcing a solid save out of Rosebud keeper Olivia Sneddon.
Unfortunately Sneddon’s form deserted her, as Jenna Kingley scored the softest of goals.
Things got worse for Adamstown when Courtney Wiltshire was stretchered from the field towards the end of the first half.
Meanwhile it was an all Eagles show at Alder Park, Lauren Allan opening their account.
The home side was clinical in the second half as they cruised to a five goal win, staying well clear at the top of the table.
