WEAPONS SEIZED IN NORTH WEST VEHICLE STOP
Two men have been charged with a combined 19 offences, after police discovered a number of items including firearms and cash during a vehicle stop in the state’s north west.
Highway Patrol officers stopped a Mitsubishi Pajero on the Newell Highway just south of Narrabri on Saturday night, with a search of the car finding two rifles as well as two shot guns and a handgun.
Ammunition, cannabis and more than $4500 cash was also seized.
The 24-year-old driver was charged with fourteen offences including knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
His passenger, also aged 24, was charged with five offences including possessing unregistered firearms.
Both men are due back in court later today.
