MAN ARRESTED AFTER HAMILTON SOUTH CRASH
An Ashtonfield man was yesterday arrested after he crashed his car into a fence in the Newcastle suburb of Hamilton South.
The driver, a 41-year-old man, returned a negative breath test, though failed a sobriety assessment following the crash on Darling Street at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
He was taken to Newcastle’s Mater Hospital for blood and urine tests.
A search of the car found a small amount of cannabis, with the man due to face Newcastle Local Court at a later date.
