MAN CHARGED OVER ASSAULT OF PARAMEDIC IN NEWCASTLE

A man’s been charged with assaulting a female paramedic, who was called to a unit on Bull Street in the Newcastle suburb of Mayfield.

The 32-year-old allegedly turned on the woman, who was treating him in the back of an ambulance on the way to the Calvary Mater Hospital.

He’s accused of punching the paramedic in the ribs, knocking her to the floor.

The 32-year-old is due to face court next month.
