FATAL CRASH NORTH WEST OF TAMWORTH

A 43-year-old man has died, while two others have been rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle crash near Tamworth.

Just before 11 o’clock on Thursday evening, a Toyota Rav 4 collided head-on with a Holden Commodore on Manilla Road at Hallsville.

The driver of the Rav 4, a 43-year-old man died at the scene, while his front seat passenger, a 29-year-old man suffered minor lacerations.

He was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Commodore, a 34-year-old man was airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
