Strike Force Trawler detectives have arrested a specialist doctor after he allegedly planned to have sexual relations with a young girl in Sydney’s west.
The Coffs Harbour man was arrested in Paramatta last night after a month-long investigation.
In March, officers posing as the mother of an 11-year-old girl, began chatting with the alleged offender online about sexually explicit acts he wished to perform on both of them.
Police say the man also sent child abuse material before making arrangements to meet them.
On Wednesday night, police executed a search warrant in a Parramatta hotel room, seizing a laptop, mobile phone, electronic storage devices and children’s toys.
Detectives also searched a Coffs Harbour property.
The 49-year-old was charged with inciting a person as an accessory before the fact to attempted aggravated sexual intercourse of a person between 10 and 14 years of age and using a carriage service for child pornography.
He was refused bail to front Paramatta Local Court on Thursday.
