A 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been charged over a police pursuit and crime spree across New South Wales.
Police began tracking a stolen BMW after a break-and-enter at Port Macquarie on Tuesday morning.
Later that day, the vehicle was spotted at Williamtown near Newcastle.
Police gave chase, but later terminated the pursuit.
The vehicle continued through Fullerton Cove, Fern Bay, Stockton, Mayfield and Tighes Hill, before becoming stuck on a median strip.
The two occupants fled, and tried unsuccessfully to hijack another car.
They were arrested on Industrial Drive and charged with a number of offences, to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.
